The article presents the results of a study on the inheritance of tolerance of spring rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) to imidazolinone herbicides. Seven F1 hybrids of the Clearfield® system from the collection of the N.N. Timofeev Selection Station LLC were studied. Clearfield® technology is a non-genetically modified system based on the selection of mutations in the AHAS gene using classical breeding or chemical mutagenesis methods, which confer resistance to imidazolinone herbicides on plants. To study the inheritance of the trait, an F2 generation was obtained from self-pollination, and an analytical cross was performed with the susceptible line M8ms. Based on the results of the assessment on a provocative background, it was proven that in the studied collection of spring rapeseed, monogenic inheritance of the trait of tolerance to the herbicide Nopasaran was of the incomplete dominance type, since in F2 from self-pollination, the expected 3:1 phenotypic split was not observed, and there were no signs of plant damage. Plants obtained from the test cross with a susceptible line showed an intermediate phenotype: herbicide treatment inhibited plant growth and development, and some plants showed apical bud death. Thus, tolerance is inherited monogenically as incomplete dominance, and all F1 hybrids are dominant homozygotes. To create F1 hybrids, all three lines (CMS, restorer and fixer) must be homozygous for the tolerance gene; heterozygosity inhibits growth processes. It is recommended to include the trait in all crossing components and select on a provocative background to discard heterozygotes.
