Potato growing in Uzbekistan: state and development prospects

The analysis of potato growing as a branch of agricultural production in the Republic of Uzbekistan: history, dynamics, current state, achievements and trends in the development of scientific foundations and practical technologies are presented. The advantages of growing of early and mid-early varieties in the Republic are given. The issues of protection, processing of crops and modern seed production, ways of their solution are touched upon.

Keywords: potato, cultivar, early and double-yielding crops, accelerated scheme of breeding and seed production.
