For the creation of hybrids suitable for cultivation in central and southern regions of Russia, new selectively valuable donors of eggplant have been selected according to biological growth - L5, L7, L9, L10, by yield of samples L1, L3, L5, L7 and L9, and the size of the fruit.L9, by the morphological traits L5, L7, L8, L9, by biochemical indicators (content of anthocyanins, phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity) L1, L4, L6, L10 , a large complex of economically valuable traits - L1, L6, L9. Thus, taking into account all the studied research directions, samples of eggplant with a complex of economically valuable traits - L1, L5, L7, L9 have been selected for inclusion in the selection process as source material. Work was carried out to evaluate hybrid combinations created from lines obtained in the previous work process. The study focused on the comparative characteristics of 9 hybrid combinations (HC) by main morphological and economically valuable features, and by total antioxidant values. All hybrid combinations (HC) have a uniform dark violet coloration, which is in line with market standards. The most bright, evenly colored and beautiful fruits were the samples GK1, GK4, GK 5, GK 7. The presence of anthocyanins in the skin of eggplant fruit has been established as a varietal trait.  Based on the results obtained for two test zones (Alexin and Krymsk), it can be said that the best hybrid combination is GK 6 (L9 L3) which is characterized by maximum yield. The best hybrid combination of GK6 (L9 L3) is also characterized by high biochemical characteristics, in particular a high content of 15 mg/g and a high total antioxidant activity between 1.9-2.0 mg ecv. HC/g. The parent forms L9-2 and L3-1 are sources of high levels of anthocyanins in the skin. Taking into account all the studied research areas, samples of eggplant with a set of economically valuable traits - L1, L5, L7, L9 - have been selected as the starting material for further selection work. According to the data from two selection centers of Crimea and Alexinsky, hybrid combinations of eggplant GK1, GK2, GK6, GK7, GK9 are highlighted as the most promising for further work and broader testing. The best two hybrid combinations will be transferred to breeding in 2027.
